The Ascent is currently in the planning and design phase. The program requires multiple stages of review and approval at the local, state, and federal levels. Updates on project status are shared regularly through official channels.

The project is funded through a combination of airport revenues, federal grants, and infrastructure investments. No general tax revenue from St. Louis residents is being used to fund this program.

The current terminal infrastructure was built decades ago and is not designed to meet modern passenger needs or operational efficiency standards. This program ensures St. Louis has a competitive, future-ready airport.

While The Ascent focuses on improving the passenger experience and airport operations, enhanced facilities and connectivity can help attract more airlines and routes to St. Louis over time.

The program is being designed with minimal disruption in mind. Construction will be phased to ensure the airport remains fully operational throughout the process, with passenger safety and convenience as top priorities.

A modern airport strengthens regional competitiveness, supports economic growth, creates jobs, and improves first impressions for visitors. This investment positions St. Louis for long-term success and connectivity.
